Dr. Ambika Kameshwar - Founder-Director of RASA, Dancer, Choreographer, Classical Singer - she is all this and more. She has had intensive training in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Creative Dance under Kumari S. Meenakshi, Dr. Narendra Sharma and several other reputed exponents of dance. A multi faceted personality, she is a noted danseuse, choreographer, vocalist, music composer and a rehablitation facilitator. Above all, she is a very respected and loved teacher. She has presented dance and music concerts all over the world, recorded music for Sangeetha Recording Company and has choreographed several solo dance pieces and dance - dramas on various themes. She has done her Ph D in Natyabhinaya from The University of Madras and a Post Doctral Fellowship as a Senior Fellow of the Government of India on the Application of Dance, Drama, Music and other aspects of Theatre for Holistic Development. She has given many lecture demonstrations and has won the award of "BEST LECTURE DEMONSTRATION" from Krishna Gana Sabha.

She has been bestowed several awards. To name a few, Stree Ratna, Bharata Kala Ratna, Seva Kala Bharathi, Perumaikkuria Penmani, Shakti Seva, Kala Vedi, For the Sake of Honour award, which is the highest award from the Rotary, Acharya Award from Call Teachers, Chennai and she received the Prestigious Kalaimamani Award for her outstanding contribution to the field of Dance from the Govt. of Tamil Nadu and Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram for the year 2004.
